Consignment Policy

Note: Clothing by Design is now accepting new consignor applications. We especially need spring and summer clothing.

Want to sell your new or used clothing? Clothing by Design accepts feminine, reasonably fashionable, modest clothing (no pants, shorts, swimwear, lingerie, or very short skirts, please) to sell on consignment. We accept girls clothing sizes 7 and up, Junior sizes, and all women's clothing sizes. Here's how it works:

1) Apply
If you have not already done so, fill out our consignor application (click on "consignor application" in the "important links" box to the left). We will contact you by e-mail within 3 business days and give you your consignor number.

2) Sort
Go through your clothing and decide what you want to sell. Make sure the clothing you choose to send us is clean and does not have any tears, stains, or other defects.

3) Mail
Mail your clothing to: Clothing by Design, 838 W. Bradshaw Road, Scottville, MI 49454. Include a note stating your consignor number in your package.

4) Sell
We will place your clothing on our website, where it will remain available until sold or up to 1 year. If the clothing does not sell within 1 year, we will either return it to you (you pay shipping) or donate it to a charitable organization. (You will be asked whether you want your clothing returned or donated when you fill out your consignor application.)

5) Get Paid
Clothing by Design pays consignors in store credit. When your clothing sells, we will email you a certificate for 40% of the sale price. You can use this certificate toward purchases from Clothing by Design.
