Mission Statement
Here at Clothing by Design, we want to encourage our customers to dress modestly. We try to provide clothing that is femine and fashionable, while also modest. However, we realize that the answer to the question, "what is modest?" will be different for different people. This does not mean there are no principles and standards, it simply means that we do not all have to look exactly the same.
For one thing, God has created each of us with our own unique figure. A skirt that would be too short on one of us, might be the perfect length for another. A sweater that is tight and clingy on my sister might fit loosely on me. With this in mind, we have done our best to take good photographs, and to accurately describe the sizes and measurements of each item. Please read the descriptions carefully and choose the garment that fits you modestly.
Remember that, sometimes, just the way various garments are combined can make the difference between modesty and immodesty. A low-cut V neck top, for example, would not be modest all by itself. But layered over a higher-cut tank top or camisole, it becomes not only modest, but also quite stylish. Another example would be sleeveless dresses. We would not advise wearing these alone, but they can be very pretty topped with a sweater or jacket. So look for garments you can combine to create that perfect outfit!
Another thing we have kept in mind while choosing clothing to display on this site is that not every woman or girl has the same taste. That's why God gave us variety! There are homey styles, artsy styles, classic styles, and sporty styles. They can all be feminine, modest, and beautiful. It is our goal to offer our customers a multitude of options so you can choose the style that most suits you.
